10 Tips for Promoting Your Website or Blog

Search engines are constantly updating their algorithms to give users relevant content. In the past couple of months search engines have been displaying more videos on their front page. If you can get your site ranking well for a relevant video you can drive a lot of traffic to your site.

2) Submit your site to directories.

Site directories help your site rank higher in search engine results. Site directories are huge listings of sites which are divided in categories and subcategories. Site directories have a lot of trust in the eyes of search engines and they really give your site a lot of link juice.

3) Trade links with other webmasters in your niche.

If you can get in contact with the owners of a site that is similar to yours you can offer a link from your sight to theirs and vice versa. This helps you drive relevant traffic to your site and also helps you rank higher by giving you a backlink.

4) Guest post on other websites.

You can increase your website visitors and build your reputation by writing articles or newsletters for other websites. Most webmasters love free unique content and will jump at your offer to give them some. Just make sure to include a link back to your website with your content.

5) Promote your site using forums.

Many people visit forums to post their ideas about and discuss various topics. If you can find a forum that is related to your site you should post valuable information on it to help drive traffic to your website. Almost all email programs allow you to enter a signature into the end of your emails. Put your website in your signature to increase your customer’s awareness.

9) Get your customers to sign up for a list.

Offer your customers something in exchange for their email address.

10) Send offers and updates to your email list.

Once you get your customers to sign up for your list you can send them special offers and discounts, or if you own a blog you can promote new posts on your blog. People who have signed up to your list tend to be the most responsive visitors and customers.
